“Out of Office” began as a record of my time on parental leave. During that time, as an escape from the house, I started drafting a novel because sitting in a coffee shop and staring into space was unnerving for the other coffee shop patrons, and I didn’t have other hobbies so where else was I supposed to go to get away? Now, here we are.
